Isaac’s Storm + Thunderstruck

I read two books by Erik Larson recently, and I read Thunderstruck on audiobook.

Isaac’s Storm, Erik Larson

Isaac’s Storm covers the devesation wreaked by the great hurricane that struck Galveston TX in Sept 1900. it is set against the hubris of man at the turn of the century, and like all of Larson’s books, a true page-turner.

Isaac’s Storm speaks a lot about the telegraph and the Marconigram technology of the turn of the century as well, and since Larson just so happens to have a book covering that exact thing…

Thunderstruck, Erik Larson

I chose this one on audiobook, and it seemed very fitting as it covers wireless technology. It also covers the fast paced investigation and capture of a murderer, made possible by the incredible advances in wireless communication that Marconi developed.
