this was really funny, and it definitely pulled you in. not a typical romance, in that this book skips over the honeymoon period and drops you right into a 4 year long ice age. Violet and James both have to acknowledge and face the pains from their past that have transformed their marriage from a love match to lifeless. I really appreciated how these characters, and those around them, had to deal with consequences from choices years before — and have frank, honest conversations to resolve issues.
